RichardBard

After twenty-five years skippering 40- to 80- foot power and sailing vessels, I have thorough knowledge of the Pacific Coast, including most anchorages and nearly every port from California to Alaska. I've also made extended passages as captain along the U.S. Atlantic Coast, through the Caribbean Sea, Panama Canal, Central America, between Hawaii and the mainland and through the South Pacific. This has given me the ability and confidence to deliver your boat or guide your voyage anywhere in the world where there is navigable water.

I welcome delivery participation by owners who see the benefit of practicing navigation in unfamiliar waters, as well as the adventure of exploring new ports and coastlines.

Any vessel should be well equipped, in sound shape, and good mechanical condition before a passage begins. If your boat has need of improvement, consider putting my years of experience with installations, upgrades, and repairs to work for you.

1980 to 2000: Captain/owner of commercial fishing boats. Built 50-foot combination fishing/sailing vessel in
Florida, sailed through Caribbean, Panama Canal, Central America, to Pacific Northwest. Operated offshore from Oregon to Alaska for fifteen seasons fishing for salmon and albacore tuna. Hired, trained, and supervised crew. Installed and maintained all systems including main engines and drive trains. Completed courses in safety training, first aid and CPR. Zero injuries in 20-plus years.

Feedback: "I had an opportunity to help Richard relocate a friend's boat (a 43' Ocean Alexander)
from Seattle to San Francisco. I have boated most of my life on the Puget Sound but this was
a new experience of boating off-shore for me. I found Richard to be extremely knowledgeable of the waters,
navigation, and ports between Seattle and San Francisco. he took good care of the boat, his crew, and was very
thorough with his planning of the trip. We arrived in the Bay area on time and the boat was in good shape."
